Our vision on technical support

A few years ago, Wifac decided to bundle all the available knowledge and started Wifac Competence Center (WCC). The aim was to offer this specialized knowledge to their customers. Cees Hoogeboom, technical support manager , explains what the Competence Center can offer.

The graphic industry is looking for optimum efficiency and maximum cost effective production. This is very important for the future for most graphic and printing related companies. Wifac, by means of a team of WCC specialists, offers customized support, helpdesk, consultancy, process standardisation (ISO), application and technical support. 

Can you give some practical examples?
Many of our national customers as well as international dealers are looking for quality improvements to produce more cost effective or update their technical process. In such case we thoroughly analyze the present situation from order intake to the finished product. After an investigation, WCC presents a report, containing the present situation, technical advice on know-how and necessary investments on software and hardware in order to achieve maximum results. In general the target is to make the overall reproduction process predictable and reduce errors to a minimum. 

Troubleshooting
When there is a sudden problem on a press, in many cases the offset plate or plate processing is one of the first suspects. By going step by step through the process, starting for example with the CtP and processor, the problem gets a "face" and can be eliminated in this stage. But this doesn't stop in prepress. The same step by step approach is used to expose a possible problem on the press. 

Test guidance
Our //wifac xtreme offset plate business is growing rapidly, there is no difference anymore between renowned offset plate brands and offset plates produced in China. The industry sees more and more the interesting price - performance ratio with the use of Chinese offset plates. When customers make the change from one to another offset plate brand we guide them with recommended CtP and Processor settings and advice on chemistry. This is done by telephone support and/or by visit on location. 

Seminar courses and training
It is not all troubleshooting or process guidance, we also organize presentations and seminars for our national customers, product-, marketing- and also sales training and product courses for our international dealers in Europe. In 2011 we held several seminars for our international dealers in Dusseldorf on CtP and offset plates. Part of the day was spend on theory and a workshop, offset plates were produced, flaws and errors created on purpose and printed to show results on paper. With our seminars and courses the topics are diverge, from Inkjet technology and Digital pre- and press to Packaging applications. Please ask for our comprehensive WCC program.

Knowledge demand
Although the industry is quiet "automized", skilled employee's are still needed. Graphic Schools encounter a reduction of pupils, vocational training and education is less popular. We are filling a gap here to increase skills and knowledge.
